About scams
At Oriental Merchant, the security of our employees and candidates is a priority. Recently, we have been made aware of certain unauthorized individuals falsely presenting themselves as recruiters as part of online scams or phishing attempts. We will never request sensitive information such as your bank account information, money or any personal information for visa sponsorships during the application and interview process.
If someone asks you for sensitive information, we strongly advise that you assume that individual is not affiliated with Oriental Merchant. Some things to watch out for:
- We will never request payment from you to process employer sponsored visas of any kind. Employer sponsored visas is something Oriental Merchant unfortunately do not currently facilitate for candidates.
- Slightly altered or unprofessional email addresses. Oriental Merchant’s Australian based HR team/management only corresponds from email addresses with the domain ‘@oriental.com.au’.
- Vague job requirements or job descriptions. Most of our open job opportunities and descriptions can be found on our company website Oriental Merchant Careers.
